Support Group

SALGA NYC’s peer support group is a confidential, safe space for self-empowerment of individuals who identify as South Asian and Queer. We meet on the second Saturday of every month from 4 PM to 6 PM Eastern Time. This is a peer-facilitated group, led by individuals who have been trained to lead support group discussions. Facilitators are not mental health professionals and are not qualified to give medical advice and/or crisis counseling.

Note: Our support group meetings are open to people who identify as South Asians only. All are welcome to our other social events.

During pandemic times, the support group met via Zoom. Preregistration was required in order to join the Zoom meetings.

During normal times, the support group meets at the Lesbian and Gay Community Center, 208 West 13th Street, New York, NY 10011. No prior appointment is necessary to attend.
