The South Asian Lesbian & Gay Association of New York City (SALGA) serves to promote awareness, tolerance, acceptance, empowerment and safe spaces for sexual minorities and people of all gender identities, who trace their heritage to South Asia or who identify as South Asian. Our mission is to enable community members to establish cultural visibility and take a stand against oppression and discrimination in all its forms.  We pledge to encourage leadership development, provide multi-generational support, work towards immigration advocacy, address health issues such as HIV / AIDS, and foster political involvement in the interest of creating a more tolerant society.

~ Renewal & Resolution ~

Happy New Year! Welcome to our first support group of 2012! The holidays are over and this is the time when we tend to evaluate our lives and perhaps come up with a resolution or two. The new year gives us the opportunity to start afresh, renew our sense of self or learn a new skill. We invite you to come share your resolutions, your firm resolve NOT to have resolutions, your excitement about the new year or whatever else this time means to you. We look forward to seeing you all on the 14th of January and throughout the year.

As always, the topic is a guide but please feel free to bring any topic of concern to you.
Support group is for you.

Date: Saturday, January 14, 2012

Time: 4 - 6pm

Location: LGBT Center, 208 West 13th Street

SALGA’s monthly support group meetings are a SAFE, CONFIDENTIAL space for you to join a group atmosphere to talk about issues that affect your life and well-being.  We provide a supportive atmosphere to all attendees.
